Depressing? Perhaps it is humans who are depressing for placing such a high importance on this poorly defined concept of fun. Vulcans are a people from the former planet of Vulcan, sixteen light years from Earth.

As for your question, I am a skilled chess player, proficient in a musical instrument, and find the accumulation of knowledge fascinating. While I would not say they are done for entertainment, they do serve a function that work does not.
